Dr Georgia Ovenden
BSc (Hons); PhD (Psychology)
Georgia Ovenden was awarded her PhD in 2012 (Psychology, Western Sydney University).
She is currently working on two projects in the Domestic and Family Violence Research Team at Melbourne University: Positive Shift (Women who use force) and EVA (Evaluations of Violence and Abuse: Building the Evidence).
Georgia has conducted research in the related areas of: gender and sexuality; young people and respectful relationship education; violence prevention and evaluation; cultural diversity at university, and research into institutional cultural change. In her PhD thesis, ‘Disrupting accounts of Normal: Adult survivor identities’, Georgia examined adult women’s experiences of sexual subjectivity and identity following childhood sexual abuse.
